| Review of the Smoke 51 Electronic Cigarette: http://www.smoke51.com Overview: While many electronic cigarettes are a three-piece model (consisting of the battery, filter cartridge and a separate atomizer), the Fifty-One is a 2-piece electronic cigarette. The advantage of the two-piece design is that the atomizer is contained within the cartridge, meaning that with every change of cartridge comes a fresh atomizer, which helps to prevent the atomizer clogging that tends to occur with electronic cigarettes over time. At a price of $149.95 for a two-battery starter kit (including charger), the Fifty-One is among the pricier of electronic cigarettes. However, as I'll outline below, the smoking experience was head-and-shoulders above any of the other models tested. Perhaps the adage, "you get what you pay for" truly applies in this case, because the Fifty-One sets the standard to which all other e-cigs should be compared. Features:
Smoking Experience: The kit included two 6mg Tobacco-flavor cartridges. I also purchased a five-pack of Vanilla (6mg) cartridges. The tobacco cartridge had a good flavor, but I loved the vanilla. Both cartridges produced a lot of vapor, probably four-fold more than any other model I've tried. Of all of the electronic cigarettes I've used, the Fifty-One was by far the most enjoyable "smoking" experience. Additional Notes: One of the batteries included in my starter kit didn't hold a charge for very long. I called Smoke 51 and they replaced the battery for free (apparently all of their rechargeable batteries come with a lifetime replacement guarantee - I sent the bad one in and had a new one in a few days). |
